Upcoming State of the County

The next CHAMBER event is the annual STATE OF THE COUNTY with the COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. It is next Tuesday, January 13th at 7:30 to 9:30 AM at the Carroll Arts Center. Each of the Carroll County Commissioners will give us their impressions of the County’s state. The comments should be interesting, given that three of the County Commissioners are not incumbents and most likely are still in a steep learning curve.

The Commissioners attending will be:

  • Dist. 1 Taneytown/Manchester – Stephen Wantz
  • Dist. 2 Hampstead/Finksburg – Richard Weaver
  • Dist. 3 Westminster – Dennis Frazier
  • Dist. 4 Mt. Airy/Union Bridge/New Windsor – Richard Rothschild
  • Dist. 5 Eldersburg/Sykesville – Doug Howard

Attendance at this event is usually high. Attendance of over 200 is not unusual. If you’re undecided about attending, please think “YES”. In addition to hearing about the State of County, it is a great opportunity to network with other business people, educators, elected officials, and the general public. The program is free (as in no charge) and open to Chamber members, non-Chamber members and the general public. So bring a friend, bring an associate (assuming they may be different people).

To register, use this LINK. (Note: Our Leadership Carroll 2015 class is also meeting that day, and they too will be attending the State of the County with the County Commissioners. If you are interested in this educational program for 2016; you can register on-line.). Coffee and pastries will be available prior to the speaker’s presentations. Admission is free but PRE-REGISTRATION is requested so we have adequate coffee and cups.
