About Live Local #Live Carroll
The Chamber has partnered with the Mid-Atlantic Gigabit Innovation Collaboratory, Inc. (MAGIC) to launch the Live Local #LiveCarroll Community Discount Program. This program is designed to encourage Carroll County residents to experience and support their community like never before. Behind the scenes, MAGIC is working with a team of 15 McDaniel College students and esteemed local social media experts to conduct a first-of-its-kind social media experiment. You can read all about the experiment HERE.
Through the Live Local #LiveCarroll Community Discount Program, students will be marketing a stylish, high-quality t-shirt and discount card. Wearers of the Live Local #LiveCarroll apparel or carriers of the discount card will receive a 10% discount from participating local retailers, restaurants, and service providers.
We are currently seeking local retailers, restaurants and service providers to participate in the program. Participation in this program is FREE for Carroll County Chamber of Commerce members. Non-chamber members will be asked to pay a $99 fee to participate in the program.
All that is required of Live Local #LiveCarroll Community Discount Program participants is that they offer a simple 10% discount which will be honored from October 19, 2016 through June 30, 2017 (standard exclusions will apply).
In exchange for participating in the program, each member company will receive:
- Recognition and promotion through Live Local #LiveCarroll ecommerce site, social media, and in a thank-you email to buyers of Live Local #LiveCarroll merchandise
- Stylish Live Local #LiveCarroll window cling for display in place of business
- Acknowledgement in the White Paper that is produced by McDaniel students regarding their findings from their social media experiment
It is our hope that this program will drive new customers into your business and offer students a valuable hands-on learning opportunity to create innovative social media marketing strategies and gain a measurable understanding of how social media can be used to market real products and services.
