D. Schaffer Scholarship Charles D. Schaffer Scholarships are awarded
to Carroll County students planning to pursue a business-related degree at Carroll
Community College or McDaniel College on a full time basis. In 2008, three scholarships
of $1000 each shall be awarded to students enrolling in McDaniel College, and
three scholarships of $1000 each to students enrolling in Carroll Community College.
Applicants must be: " A resident of Carroll County for at
least one year " A graduating senior of a Carroll County high school
or a home-schooled student who has successfully completed a high school curriculum
" Seeking a degree on a full-time basis in Business Administration,
Economics, Accounting, Human Resources Development or other business related courses
at Carroll Community College or McDaniel College Awards shall be made on
the basis of financial need, academic achievement and activity in community affairs.
As long as a sufficient number of qualified candidates have applied to
each college, no more than one scholarship shall be awarded to applicants enrolling
in that college from the same high school. Each scholarship award shall be made
to the college in two payments, one-half of the award in the student's first semester
of study, and one-half in the second semester. TO APPLY FOR THE SCHOLARSHIP

the following forms to McDaniel's financial aid office. Please follow the
college's application deadlines (MARCH 1) in order to be considered for the scholarship.
