Outstanding Teacher Awards Reception

Westminster High School

Eight Outstanding Teacher Awards were presented to Donna S. Reck, North

Carroll Middle School, Claudia C. Lewis, Shiloh Middle, Janet S. Shearer,

Cranberry Station Elementery, Gary R. Fuhrman, Century High, Dr. Charles

Ecker, CCPS (officiating), Mary C. Stephens, Winfield Elementary,

Katie M. Nefflen, Westminster High, Jennifer Goffena, Westminster East

Middle, and (not pictured) Anne C. Kyker, Friendship Valley Elementary.

 

The Wilhelm Scholarship was awarded to Patricia Regan, Liberty High,

Rachel Morgan, William Winchester Elementary, and Andrea Kordonski,

Linton Springs Elementary

 

Dr. Charles Ecker, CCPS, Richard Haddad, Chamber President,

Keynote Speaker Marsha Smith, National Education Association,

Barry Potts, Carroll Co. Education Assn. and Carol Cahall

of The Main Event, the Chamber's 2008 Chairman of the Board.

 

Sponsors of the event included Tevis Oil/Modern Comfort [Jack Tevis],

Teachers, nominators, students and parents gathered

in the lobby of Westminster High School.

 

Attendees continued to arrive in spite of high winds and

pouring rain outside. Hors d'oeuvres and desserts

were served prior to the ceremony.

 

Catering was provided by Salerno's of Eldersburg.

 

Over 550 people filled the auditorium as the ceremony began.

Sandymount Rec. Council presented a Karate Demonstration.
