The Honorable Thomas M. Middleton
Finance Committee
3 East, Miller Senate Building
Annapolis, MD 21401
Dear Senator Middleton:
SB845 would repeal the provisions of law regarding the living wage for State contracts, and repeal the requirement that specified employers pay specified hourly wages to employees who work on specified State contracts.
The Legislative Committee of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce supports this bill. This bill would relieve employers from the burden of paying wages above the competitive wage for the geographic area, fostering a fairer and more competitive business environment.
We therefore ask that your committee give this bill a favorable report.
Sincerely,
Richard Haddad
President
CC: Senator Larry E. Haines
