Re: SB610 – Workers' Compensation - Jurisdiction Pending Appeal - Proposed Settlement - Support

Dear Senator Middleton:

SB610 would expand the circumstances under which the Workers' Compensation Commission retains jurisdiction pending an appeal of a Commission order to include a request for approval of a proposed settlement of all or part of a claim.

The Legislative Committee of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce supports this bill. This bill would make it much easier to get settlements approved during an appeal.

We therefore ask that your committee give this bill a favorable report.
